Ecclesiastes

Ecclesiastes 1:1-4 The words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem: “Meaningless! Meaningless!”    says the Teacher.“Utterly meaningless!    Everything is meaningless.” What do people gain from all their labors    at which they toil under the sun?Generations come and generations go,    but the earth remains forever. I have recently read the book of Ecclesiastes, a book written with profound wisdom and insight. Most people view it as a depressive and negative book, but I can assure you that it is far from a piece of dark writing but rather a realistic view of our existence. Solomon, the king of Israel, observed the way people lived,…

The Current World

What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his soul? Yet today, many have sold their soul for much less, gratification being the payment that will only last a fraction of the timeline of judgment they will soon face. This is the world we are living in. How do we as Christians, strangers in a world heading for destruction, keep walking in the faith without complying to any of the trends and norms that may arise? Do we easily give in without thinking, hoping to fit in, our subconscious minds aiming to make us accepted…

Cupcake Christianity

First of all, what you are about to read is extremely opinionated and is not fact. I'm writing what I feel. It's not really up for debate, but you can comment whether you disagree or not. If we compare today's Christianity with the time it began, we cannot ignore the vast difference in theology and way of lifestyle. It is unavoidable. Our theology is not only watered down, but so is our faith. We don't believe as much as the apostles, neither do we act as much them. I feel we don't hold onto the truth with a tight grip and…

Identity

Roughly two years ago, I wrote a blog called IDENTITY CRISIS. A short message explaining why most Christians are no living like Christ. However, recently, I have come across a profound epiphany of identity. By definition, Identity /ʌɪˈdɛntɪti/ noun 1. the fact of being who or what a person or thing is.   The identity is a part of every person, which is inevitably unavoidable. Everyone must have an identity. The problem with our struggle with identity is that it is always attached to something. We secure who we are with our race, our status, our history, and even our heritage. Some…

Frightful Pandemic or Fulfilled Prophecy?

Church has been cancelled in South Africa after the President declared a National State of Disaster that banned any gathering that includes a 100 people or more. Churches have gone online with live streams in order to 'cater for their congregation's spiritual needs'. The death toll is sitting at more than 11000 as I write this with 284,805 cases worldwide. 93000 have recovered. Many have panicked, resorting to stockpiling in preparation for quarantine or self-isolation. People fighting over toilet paper while others are involved in some TikTok challenge that allows the user to contract any means possible. Some have licked toilet…

Pastors & Wolves

Ever since I could remember, pastors have been held in high prestige. Nobody really knows why. Do they? We all assume that since he is dressed in a dignified and religious way, respect is due to him. A pastor is defined by what church he belongs to or what clothes he wears. However, we live in a time where if a pastor drives a Mercedes, wears expensive suits, lives in a mansion and travels all over the world, such a pastor was successful and would be extremely close to God. The problem is, you can't use materialistic wealth to be an…

Prosperity Gospel #2

In my previous post on this topic Prosperity Gospel, I discussed the dangers of a money orientated gospel. I would like to touch on this topic again with a bit more shocking information. I would also like to show you why I hate the prosperity gospel. When I used to go to church when I was young, I attended a church that was spiritually competitive. A spiritually competitive church will never be spiritually edifying. It was the type of church that if you were the richest, then you were the closest to God and that's why you were blessed. So if you…

Just My Thoughts…

I don't like this world that we are living in. I don't know if it's just me or is there others out there? So much of brokenness around us and what are we doing? Those who complain about this sick world are probably the ones causing the problems or doing nothing about it. We live in a world that will grab a Ferrari at the expense of your bread and butter. Giving is better than taking but no one believes that anymore. We live in a society that aims high, so high that they will trample others to get there. Morals…

Prosperity Gospel

Now, many are going to be offended by what I am going to say but this message has been stirring in my mind for quite some time now and indeed I must tell the truth. There is a gospel which is really no gospel at that is being preached a lot to the masses. Preachers all around the world are getting paid to preach this fine mirage that tickles the ears of the lukewarm congregation that never does anything for the kingdom of God. They wouldn't, of course, because they don't worship Jesus, they worship Mammon. They bow down low to…
