Throughout the old testament, we find that the story of Jesus is portrayed multiple times for our perusal. We find many people who were a type of Christ to give ignorant people a clue of what was to come…

God provided a sacrifice when he tested Abraham.

Genesis 22:13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.

Joseph was a type of Christ. He had a great inheritance waiting for him. He was royalty. However, he was thrown in a pit, sold as a slave, fled temptation only to be falsely accused, jailed and forgotten. All this, just so that he could save Egypt and the surrounding countries from the impending despair of a seven year famine.

Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

Esther was placed strategically to save a nation.

Esther 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Then Jesus arrived on the scene. He saved His people, fought for their freedom, loved them, helped the poor and His life transformed them. He resisted temptation when it paid a visit. He became a sacrifice for the people who rejected Him, He lived and died for them.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

But the question is: Does the story of Jesus end there?

Or do we continue to live it? Does it still ring out in our lives? Just like every story in the Bible that proclaimed Jesus, our story must do the same.

Are we resisting temptation? Are we loving others? Are we laying down our lives for the sake of Christ? Do we sacrifice our lives for the sake of Christ? Do we help the poor? Are we there for the abandoned and the forgotten? Do we tell others the Truth? Do we reach out to the lost? Are we rescuing others from the fire that is being heated more every day as the end draws near? Are we the continuation of the story of Jesus?

You have a choice whether His story rings out in every move you make. Others are reading yor story, make sure He’s the main character…
