Most people complain that other Christians are giving them a bad name. The Bible speaks about these people in 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
The real reason for this is an identity crisis. They don’t know who they are in Christ.
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;
(1 Peter 2:9)
If they knew that they were of royalty, they wouldn’t associate themselves with the slaves. If they knew that nobility was their destiny, they wouldn’t have those traits of bondage. We were slaves redeemed to become princes and princesses, but some choose to stay slaves of sin. They refuse the inheritance.
Therefore you are no longer a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
(Galatians 4:7)
We are the ones who choose whether we are slaves of sin or sons and daughters of righteousness.
Know who you are in Christ!
